"GOAL 10: REDUCED INEQUALITIES Çukurova University Policy on Reduced Inequalities
In accordance with Article 42 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, "No one shall be deprived of the right to education and training." Çukurova University places great importance on fulfilling its duty to provide equal opportunities for individuals from all segments of society without discrimination, just as required by this constitutional provision. The policy of Çukurova University for reducing inequalities encompasses the following points:
• Provides equal educational opportunities for individuals from all segments of society in associate degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate education programs. • Ensures equal access to education and educational materials for individuals with insufficient income levels, different ethnic backgrounds, and mental or physical disabilities, regardless of language, religion, race, gender, or color. • Establishes policies to prevent discrimination, sexual assault, and harassment through the efforts of its units. • Provides support to academic and administrative staff as well as students through the Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault Support Unit established within the Women's Issues Research and Implementation Center. • Organizes scientific, cultural, and social activities to increase awareness about discrimination, gender equality, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. • Makes the physical and social structures of its units accessible to disabled individuals, supporting their right to equal education. • Aims to raise awareness among its academic and administrative staff as well as students about discrimination that deprives individuals of their right to education. • Provides post-graduation seminars, both online and in-person, for its students on issues related to social inequalities. • During the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic, conducted efforts to ensure equal education for students through online education and opened its doors to students who lacked necessary resources within the framework of pandemic measures.
Çukurova University, consistently carrying out its efforts to protect the constitutional right of every individual to education within the scope of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, will support initiatives to eliminate local, national, and international inequalities and ensure that every member of society receives equal education.
